Hey everybody. There was an error in an earlier version of our calendar that we put up in a few spots in Eastown. The “Know Your Rights” workshop will be the day of the 18th as opposed to the 25th. So update your calendars.

Sorry everyone!

September Calendar

Hey folks. It’s now September, and unfortunately plenty of people are reluctantly heading back to alienating, boring, and expensive state schools. Whether it’s breaking our ability to dream in elementary school, alienating us from each other in middle school, making sure we show up to school on time in high school, or training us at college to be the gears that keep this oppressive society functioning; mainstream education sucks the life out of us, preparing us for a life of work doing the exact same thing.

But never fear, G.R. Free School’s September calendar is here!

Know Your Rights workshop Saturday, Yoga class starts Sunday

Thanks for everyone who came out to the feminist discussion.

This Saturday G.R. Free School is hosting the first in a series of “Know Your Rights” workshops from 1 – 3 PM. This one will be focused on how to avoid arrest, detention, detainment, and abuse at the hands of police. We will be sharing our knowledge of a citizen’s state-granted rights and laws as well as advice on how to tactfully deal (or not deal) with police encounters. The workshop will be given at The Bloom Collective, 671 Davis St. NW room 7 (in the lower floor).

Then Sunday there will be the first in a series of yoga classes happening every other week from 3 – 4 PM. It is a beginner level class for breathing and stress management. Though the original flier states it will be at Cherry Park, this was a typo on the part of the person who made it. It will ACTUALLY be at Wilcox Park, by the tennis courts. We hope to see you there!
